A New Social Housing Model
Safe places is a new model of private, government and charity partnership which develops “pop up” homeless shelters. It is the first public/private partnership of its kind in Victoria.
The scarcity of government housing and homeless shelters in Victoria is driven by a lack of land. To overcome this, Woodards has donated an 860 sqm block of land in Boroondara to the State Government for five years.
Six units have been built on the block which will accommodate women and their children.
